The KX 100 DYNAMIC represents a systematic development of the technology already applied to the KX 160 TWIN multiple spindle design. The innovative and patented machine concept makes it possible to minimize auxiliary process times and reduce set-up times. The integrated loading function along with an optional automatic changeover of the workpiece fixture, makes the KX 100 DYNAMIC concept the perfect solution for large batch sizes as well as mass production of external spur and helical gears.
The KX 100 DYNAMIC generating gear grinding machine includes two separate pivoting columns, the KX 260 DYNAMIC has one. A vertically moving pick-up-axis is mounted on the column(s); each pick-up-axis is equipped with a workpiece spindle. While one workpiece is ground, the second spindle transfers a completely processed workpiece to the handling conveyor and then picks up an unprocessed part. The workpiece is aligned outside of the machine's working area. Subsequently, the workpiece spindle accelerates to the processing speed, minimising auxiliary process times. An optional multi-function axis allows the sorting of measuring and test pieces. Continuous generating grinding with a dressable, threaded cylindrical tool is the grinding method used on this machine. Dressing tools with integrated tip dressing as well as flexible tools with independent tip dressing can be used on the dressing device. Moreover, with the topological generating grinding option, it is possible to produce gears with or without targeted modifications.
For small and medium-size batch production, the machine can be equipped with only one pick-up axis.
Continuous generating with a dressable threaded cylindrical tool is the grinding method. Dressing tools with integrated tip dresser as well as flexible tools with independent tip dressing can be used on the dressing device. Moreover, with the topological generating grinding option, it is possible to produce gears without or with targeted modifications.
control and software
The Siemens Sinumerik 840D control system is equipped with an operator-friendly menu-driven user interface, developed by KAPP NILES to match the specific machining requirements.
An optional measuring device allows the user to measure and evaluate gear qualities against specifications. This function is mainly used to optimize the set-up processes in the machine, in order to eliminate non-operational periods caused by external measuring processes. Alternatively, random samples can be tested during processing.
A primary advantage of the KX machine concept is the complete integration of automation functionalities. By using the pick-up design, parts are loaded and unloaded from a conveyor without any additional handling of equipment. Moreover, additional functions such as discharging test parts are possible.
