CBN Grinding WheelsCBN Wheels

Depending on the process, KAPP Technologies offers:

Profile grinding wheels
    Full form profile grinding with single CBN profile grinding wheels for single indexing, suitable for roughing and / or finishing process.

Wheel sets
    Full form profile grinding with multi-rib CBN profile grinding wheels for single indexing. Outside wheels suitable for roughing, center wheel for finish grinding. Primarily used to minimize indexing errors.

Coroning ToolsCoroning Tools

Depending on the processing task, KAPP offers:

Coroning rings
Coroning with non-dressable Coroning rings with internal teeth and single-layer electroplated diamond.
This process is primarily used for stock dividing roughing / finishing.

Coroning gears
Coroning with non-dressable Coroning gears with external teeth and single-layer electroplated diamond.
This process is particularly suitable for the finishing process, and achieves a surface finish comparable to scraping or honing.

Dressable ToolsDressable Tools

  1. Beside the non-dressable CBN grinding tools, dressable grinding tools of leading manufacturers can be used on our machines, too.
  2. Vitrified bond aluminium oxide tools are dominant. Sintered aluminium oxide is preferred as the grinding tool for grinding of steel due to its resilience and grinding capability. Gray cast-iron can also be processed with normal aluminium oxide.
  3. The profiling of the grinding tools takes place via a machine-integrated CNC dressing unit. A diamond-plated, rotating dressing tool profiles the wheel in accordance with the respective gear parameters.
  4. The grinding tool is conditioned specifically for rough or finish grinding by selecting respective technological dressing parameters.
  5. Form consistency and cutting capacity of the grinding wheel is assured by repeated dressings, dependent on pre-defined stock removal rates.
  6. Automatic balancing produces smoother turning for larger grinding tools, and consequently, high gear quality.

1. Diamond dressing rolls with or without tip dressing

DIA-profile and form rolls for workpiece-dependent or flexible dressing of vitrified bond aluminium oxide tools for continuous generating grinding of external gears.

for profiling of dressable honing rings.
